MEDIA ADVISORY: Vanderhoof Road Bridge closure

New Franklin, Ohio– Alan Brubaker, P.E., P.S., Summit County Engineer, would like to alert residents and motorists about an upcoming 120 day closure of the Vanderhoof Road Bridge over the Tuscarawas River, located between Van Buren Road and Grove Road in the City of New Franklin. The closure will begin Monday, July 10. The closure is necessary for a complete bridge replacement project. Detour routes will be posted.

This project is 80% funded with a County Engineer’s Association of Ohio Local Bridge Program grant award. Black Horse Bridge Construction, Inc. out of Norton was the lowest responsive and responsible bidder at $743,812.45. The County share of the project is $148,762.49.

The official detour route will go from Vanderhoof Road to SR 93 (Manchester Road) to Center Road to Van Buren Road back to Vanderhoof Road. All work is weather dependent.
