Public Notice: Granger Road Bridge Replacement Project
Now Accepting Comments

The Summit County Engineer’s Office has proposed a project to replace the existing 65-feet long Granger Road Bridge over Yellow Creek in Bath Township. The project includes replacing the entire structure with a new structure approximately 87-feet long. The bridge is located on Granger Road approximately 900 feet east of Timberline Drive.
Construction is scheduled to begin in Fall 2023 and will last approximately 9 months. Total estimated project construction cost is approximately $1,500,000. The bridge will be closed during construction for 180 consecutive days. The detour will utilize North Hametown Road; West Bath Road; and North Cleveland Massillon Road. Access shall be maintained to all adjacent properties, residences, businesses, and intersecting side streets for the duration of the project. Construction and detour information will be posted within the project construction limits prior to the start of project construction. Substantial traffic disruptions are not expected with the project.
To ensure the decision-making process is comprehensive, the Summit County Engineer is seeking comments from the public about the social, environmental and economic impacts of this proposed project. Environmental impacts include those involving archeological, architectural, and ecological resources, regulated materials and the general location of the project. The Summit County Engineer also requests information regarding the presence of any known cultural resources in the vicinity of the project including prehistoric and historic archaeological sites, historic bridges, historic buildings, landmarks and districts.

Public participation is solicited without regard to race, color, sex, age, national origin, or disability. A summary of public comments received during the comment period and responses to those comments will be prepared and posted within 30 days of the end of the comment period.
