Riverview Road Bridge over Furnace Run Closure

Cuyahoga Falls, OH– Summit County Engineer Alan Brubaker, PE, PS would like to alert residents and motorists of a 125-day closure of the Riverview Road Bridge over Furnace Run beginning Monday, February 10th. The reopen date is June 15, 2020. The bridge is located just north of the intersection with Bolanz Road in the city of Cuyahoga Falls.
The closure is for a bridge reconstruction project. J.D. Williamson Construction Co. located in Tallmadge is the contractor for the $1.2 million project, which includes replacing the bridge deck, beams, and portions of the piers and abutments. Construction is 100% funded with state and federal grants.
The detour route will be posted. The detour route involves Bolanz Road, Akron-Peninsula Road, and State Route 303. Access to Szalay’s Farm & Market will be maintained at all times via the Bolanz Road driveways. All work is subject to inclement weather.
